Kwame Baffoe is the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, widely known as Abronye DC, has hit back at what he describes as double standards within the party’s leadership amid ongoing calls for unity.
Speaking on Ohia TV and monitored by GhanaWeb on Monday, June 23, 2025, Abronye questioned the party’s commitment to unity, pointing accusing fingers at the campaign team of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the former Member of Parliament for Assin Central.
He alleged that despite preaching unity, national party executives have failed to call out flagbearer aspirants whose teams are allegedly behind coordinated smear campaigns.
“They talk about unity, but they can’t even call such people to order. How is that unity?
“We see the smear campaigns on social media. Bawumia’s name has been linked to a rice importation scandal. Everyone in the party is aware of what’s going on. Yet, the very people promoting this division are the ones calling for calm,” he alleged.
Abronye further challenged the party to take action against him.
“Suspend who? I’m only speaking about things I know, and nothing will change my position,” he fumed.
His reaction follows a directive from the party’s national leadership, which cautioned both him and Deputy Communications Officer Ernest Owusu-Bempah over acts of indiscipline.
Despite the warning, Abronye insists he will not be silenced, stressing that genuine unity must be built on fairness not silence and hypocrisy.
