Mr Daniel Ofori, one of the petitioners for the removal of the Chief Justice, says the suspended Chief Justice is acting in a clear breach of the 1992 Constitution.
He said the process for the removal of the Chief Justice required the inquiry to be held in camera.
A statement issued by the petitioner said, “My attention has been drawn to a media engagement on June 25, 2025, by the suspended Chief Justice at which she publicly discussed the contents of my petition for her removal as Chief Justice and the proceedings in respect of the petition.”
He said he would respond to the false statements made about him during the press conference held on June 25, 2025, at the appropriate time.
Mr Ofori said because the proceedings of the committee probing the matter were supposed to be held in camera, he would hold his comments for now.
He said, “as a law-abiding citizen and out of respect for the constitutional process and the Committee. I will not seek to go on the path of the suspended Chief Justice, not even to correct plain falsehoods in her statements.”
He said when it was constitutionally and legally appropriate to engage the public on matters regarding my petition and the process,” I will do so.”
