Mama Lardi’s Children’s Home in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region has received vital support from Alagumgube, a globally connected development group dedicated to community upliftment.

The organization, which previously donated to the Upper East Regional Hospital and Anafobisi Primary A School in Bongo after a windstorm, extended its benevolence to Mama Lardi’s Children’s Home on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Items donated included 15 bags of rice, two large gallons of oil, two boxes of tinned tomatoes, and a 55-inch Smart TV preloaded with educational content to aid the children’s learning. The Clothilda Awae Foundation also contributed 40 smock bags, promoting the region’s rich local fabric.

Alagumgube emphasized that their support aligns with their belief that every child deserves nourishment, education, and the opportunity for a brighter future.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Martin Abiriya, a member of Alagumgube Africa, stressed the importance of collective efforts in supporting vulnerable children. He revealed that food scarcity was one of the major challenges the children faced, which informed their donation.

“These contributions, though small, are meant to support the incredible work Mama Lardi is doing. We are grateful for the tireless efforts of the staff who care for these children with love and dedication. We hope these items help lighten the load and contribute to a better life for the children here,” he said.

He further called on society to extend a helping hand to vulnerable children, emphasizing that small gestures can make a significant impact.

Vera Ayine, a Senior High School student, spoke on behalf of the children and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the support.

“Just today, when we checked our storeroom, we had only a gallon of oil left. I was worried about where I would get oil to take back to school to soak my gari. But now, I know I have oil. From far and near, I pray that God blesses all those who made this possible,” she said, moved to tears by the donation.

The event ended with members of Alagumgube taking a group picture with the children, reinforcing their commitment to continuous support and empowerment for vulnerable communities.
