The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects for attacking and robbing a businessman in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.

In a statement issued by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, Public Affairs Officer of Tema Regional Police Command, it was stated that the robbery incident occurred on February 26, 2025.

It said Karim Fatao was arrested on the same day of the robbery, while the second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, who had been on the police wanted list for a series of robberies within Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was arrested on March 29, 2025.

The command noted that a search on the suspects led to the retrieval of a Ruger pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet and three copies of land indenture.

It added that Fatao was put before the court on March 3, 2025, and was remanded into police custody, whilst Babanawo is currently in police custody and to be put before the court to face justice.
