Ghanaians are not blind. They see through titles and empty promises. Leadership is not about polished speeches, lies and blames or academic degrees—it’s about empathy, action and truth. In choosing between Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, many are asking: Who can inspire hope, not repeat failure?
Why Kennedy Agyapong Stands Out
Anti-Corruption Crusader. Kennedy openly called out corruption during the GHC100.2 million streetlight contract awarded to his wife’s company—even when it sparked backlash. He has publicly exposed misconduct within his own party, demonstrating a bold commitment to integrity few others dare show.
Deep Roots with the Ordinary Ghanaian. He’s built trust among market women, artisans, and youth by consistently engaging with them—not just during elections. His programs supporting small businesses have resonated far beyond Accra.
Entrepreneurial Leadership. From radio stations to real estate, Kennedy’s companies employ thousands. He doesn’t just talk about job creation—he’s lived it. That practical success earns respect across class divides.
Decisive, Not Diplomatic When Silence Fails. Whether confronting illegal mining or criticizing non-performing ministers, Kennedy says what others fear to whisper. Leadership isn’t always about being liked—it’s about being bold when the stakes are high.
Media Savvy and Crowd Energizer. Unlike Bawumia’s speeches that sometimes lack conviction, Kennedy’s public addresses energize audiences. His debates are raw but real, reminding people of what’s at stake.
Immune to Kingmaker Control. He has shown independence from party godfathers, famously standing alone when other MPs turned their backs. That defiance may be disruptive—but it signals authenticity.
Champion of Public Servants. Kennedy has lobbied for improved teacher salaries, housing schemes, and job dignity. His call for vehicle support for educators made headlines and touched a nerve.
Loyalty Under Fire. Even when overlooked during primaries, Kennedy didn’t defect or sabotage. He remained loyal, showing resilience and commitment to the NPP’s ideals—not just its rewards.
Magnetic Appeal Beyond Party Borders. Surveys indicate Kennedy attracts floating voters and disillusioned NDC youth, making him a bridge between partisanship and patriotism.
Clean Break from Economic Fatigue. Ghanaians want a reset—not recycled solutions. Kennedy isn’t associated with the current economic failures, giving him a fresher mandate in the eyes of many. A point for Mr Agyapong to criticize Dr. Bawumia for all known failures and dirtiness caused in the eight years. Ken’s failure to hit these nails will loose public trust.
Why Dr. Bawumia Faces Growing Doubts
THE POINTS ANYONE CONTESTING WITH DR BAWUMIA SHOULD USE EITHER NPP PRIMARY AGAINST MR KENNEDY OR 2028 AGAINST NDC. Truth hurt but they remain cherish values.
Dodging Responsibility. As head of the Economic Management Team, he oversaw key decisions—yet distanced himself from the E-Levy and Debt Exchange Plan when they failed. This pattern leaves voters asking: Can we trust a leader who won’t own his role in hardship?
Credibility Crisis in Messaging. He once proudly said, “the cedi has been arrested”—only for it to collapse months later. Such rhetoric may grab headlines, but it leaves scars when reality bites.
Master of Blame-Shifting. Rather than offering concrete solutions, Bawumia cited COVID-19, the Ukraine War, and global inflation. Yet many nations endured the same events without the same economic collapse.
Scandal Under His Watch. When his staffer allegedly forged documents to claim rice containers at Tema Port, it raised flags about oversight and judgment in his office—a failure in leadership, not just delegation.
Empty Promises of Cape Coast. He promised an airport and a harbor to Cape Coast residents—both still mirages. Communities feel used, not served.
Trust Deficit Among Aides. Former allies have accused him of dishonesty, highlighting shifting positions and passive silence in the face of corruption. Integrity, once questioned, is hard to reclaim.
Passive Political Posture. Despite holding the second-highest office, Bawumia has rarely confronted wrongs within his party. A leader who fears internal truths may not confront national crises either.
Digitalization That Doesn’t Feed the Hungry. His digital reforms sound visionary but remain out of reach for many rural dwellers still struggling with basic needs. Vision must meet people where they are.
Economic Leadership or Economic Erosion? Debt soared, inflation crippled small businesses, and Ghana returned to the IMF under his watch. For a “seasoned economist,” the scoreboard tells a different story.
Always the Hero, Never the Culprit. From praising himself during booms to blaming others during busts, Bawumia’s pattern feels familiar—and frustrating. Ghanaians crave honesty, not image repair.
A Nation’s Plea. Ghana is not hungry for fancy degrees or international titles. It is starved for courage, truth, and someone who will bleed with her in hard times—and rise with her in better ones. Leadership is not a costume; it is a calling. One man may come with curated quotes and shifting loyalties. The other with unpolished grit and a refusal to lie.
In this defining moment, Ghanaians aren’t choosing between personalities. They are choosing between performance and pretense, between hope and habit, between a voice that speaks truth to power—and one that whispers only when safe.
Let those with eyes see. Ghana deserves better. And she knows it. It is a matter to know that liars kill vision, create endless destruction and never see development. Who would applause Prez Mahama and his finance minister Ato Forson should they be liars? Ghana still deserves a true leader with track records who cares for the people.
