Let’s be clear here, A Plus is dabbling in a cock and bull story and he is being economical with the truth.
Why such an assertion? He claimed that a fake Account was used to peddle the corruption allegation against the AG, Dr Dominic Ayine.
Intriguingly, why didn’t he (A Plus) come out to issue a disclaimer to distance himself from such post? This raises questions about the truth of what A Plus is saying today.
Indeed, A Plus release hinges on untruths and pure lies to save the Attorney General and the government from shame. This is unreliable and a mask of dishonesty.
On a more serious note, the apology to the learned Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, is not genuine, and Ghanaians must be wary of the arrangement behind closed doors.
As many argue, in any serious jurisdiction, the Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine should have been made to step aside for a full-blown investigation into the matter of corruption allegations.
Corruption allegations leveled against the learned Attorney General can’t be glossed over and the President of the Republic of Ghana must have an interest in clearing us from this shame.
This matter has been a subject of interest ever since it broke and this media banter between the Legislature and the Attorney General must not be taken for granted.
President Mahama, who promised to fight corruption must crack the whip by relieving Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine of his position to give way for an independent investigation.
Fast forward, Ghanaians deserve to know the real truth of the matter and this media war between the A Plus and Dr Dominic Ayine isn’t the best solution.
The Principal legal advisor to the President can’t be in the media for the wrong reasons, especially about serious corruption allegation issues, which have the tendency to bring shame and dent the image of the Country.
Importantly, A Plus is a lawmaker, and whatever comes from him can’t be swept under the carpet because it carries weight, and he should also avail himself to help in the investigation.
Mr. A Plus’s weak defense and apology further exposed him and the Attorney General and it’s incumbent on the President to step in for an independent investigation.
Doubtless, A Plus is eng
aged in cowardice attitude, which many Ghanaians have expressed their disappointment and the lies churned out to deceive and throw dust into the eyes of the public.
In my objective analysis, A Plus and Dr. Dominic Ayine are dabbling in dishonesty and insincerity concerning this sensitive matter of corruption allegations and name-calling on TV and social media.
In conclusion, President Mahama must show leadership by sacking the Attorney General to allow thorough investigation to bring finality to the matter of corruption.
Ghanaians deserve the best, and anything short of this action amounts to endorsing corruption, which the President promised to fight. For A Plus, the least talk about him the better.
Shalom!
