There are too many clowns in NPP — Murtala Mohammed blasts Minority NPP

The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed has raised concern about the leadership of the Minority in Parliament, insisting that there appears to be too many clowns in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking to Starr FM, the MP warned that the Majority National Democratic Caucus in Parliament won’t accept any further misconduct from the Minority side.

He asserted that recent developments in Parliament show that the Minority NPP MPs lack leadership.

According to Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin is failing to show leadership and has continuously failed to keep his caucus in order.

“We want to exercise that patience to a level that the people of this country will say enough is enough… There are too many clowns in NPP.

“The NPP seemed not to have direction, they seemed not to have leaders. Anybody can do what he likes… Afenyo-Markin [the Minority Leader] has consistently failed to control his people,” Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed.

This comes on the back of events in Parliament since the constitution of the 9th Parliament.

Speaking to the decision by the Minority to wear black and red to Parliament on Tuesday, the Tamale Central MP noted that he believes the MPs were mourning the demise of their party.

“But for them to be in black, I think that it was just mourning the demise of the NPP,” Murtala Muhammed said.
