A tragic accident has claimed the life of a young tipper truck driver in his early 20s on the Oyoko-Aduaben road in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred at dawn on Monday, May 26, 2025, when the deceased, known as Shiano, crashed his motorcycle into a road compactor.

According to a report by Otec News reporter Obibini Takyi, Shiano was riding his motorcycle from Aduaben, where he had dropped off his girlfriend, to Aputuogya.

“In an attempt to avoid an oncoming vehicle, he lost control and collided with a faulty road roller parked by the roadside,” he told Kwaku Owusu Boateng, host of Otec FM’s morning show Nyansapo.

The road roller, which belongs to Attachy Construction Limited, has reportedly been parked on the roadside for nearly three months, despite repeated appeals from road users for its removal.

Obibini Takyi noted that the construction firm has ignored these appeals, putting the lives of commuters at risk.
