The people of Tsibukope in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region witnessed a historic moment as Benjamin Madugu, an accountant at the Volta Regional Hospital, was enstooled as Togbe Tsibu VI, the new chief of the community.

His ascension to the revered Tsibukope stool, which had remained vacant for 23 years, marks a new chapter of hope, unity, and progress for the people of Dorfor.

The enstoolment ceremony was a spectacular display of tradition and culture, as the Asafo Companies from both Tsibukope and Podoe marched through the principal streets in a spirited procession.

The vibrant celebration, filled with chanting, drumming, and dancing, reflected the deep historical significance of the occasion.

The event was graced by the head of the Amanflo Clan, Togbe Kokloko Adela Titriku Ananze XII, who also serves as the leader of the Dorfor Traditional Council.

In a moving address, he praised the ancestors for choosing a worthy leader and urged the people of Tsibukope to rally behind Togbe Tsibu VI.

The enstoolment rites began on Saturday, March 22, 2025, culminating in his swearing of allegiance to Togbe Ananze on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

In his maiden speech, Togbe Tsibu VI called for unity and development, emphasizing that his reign would mark a new dawn for the people of Tsibukope.

“This is a fresh start for us all.

Let us come together, work hand in hand, and build a future filled with prosperity,” he declared.

The Queen Mother of Podoe, Mama Afiba Agbovi V, also took the opportunity to encourage parents to prioritize education, stressing that it remains the key to the community’s growth and the nation’s future.

The grand ceremony ended in style with energetic performances of the ‘Gazo’ and Agbekor dances, followed by a highly anticipated football match between Tsibukope and Agornor, bringing the festivities to an exciting close.

With the enstoolment of Togbe Tsibu VI, the people of Tsibukope now look forward to a reign that will bring transformation, unity, and a revival of the rich cultural heritage of Dorfor.
