The Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has confirmed that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is in good health and currently on a short medical rest in the United Kingdom.

Speaking on Channel One TV on Tuesday, April 8, Kwakye Ofosu assured the public of the Vice President’s well-being, adding that she is expected to resume her official duties soon.

“She is currently in good health and taking a short rest as advised by her doctors and, in short order, she should be back to her duties,” he said.

“She is in the United Kingdom as I speak,” he added.

His comments echo earlier assurances from Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who had also dismissed rumours about the Vice President’s health, confirming she was well and under medical advice to rest.

Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who made history as Ghana’s first female Vice President after the 2024 elections, has been notably absent from a few recent public events, sparking speculation on social media.

However, government officials continue to reaffirm that there is no cause for concern.
