Vice President will be back in Ghana before end of next week – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will return to Ghana by the end of next week.

The Vice President is currently in the United Kingdom receiving medical care following a brief illness.

Speaking during a durbar at the Old Ghanata Astroturf in Dodowa as part of his ‘Thank You Tour’ on Friday, May 16, President Mahama shared that the Vice President has fully recovered and will be back to her duties.

“I bring you greetings from H.E. the Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. I’m happy to state that I spoke to her on Thursday, May 15 morning and she will be back in the country before the end of the next week.

“By God’s grace, she’s fully recovered, and she’s going to come back to her duties.”

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, President John Dramani Mahama paid a special visit to his Vice President who is currently recuperating in the United Kingdom after a recent illness.

President Mahama shared a photo of the visit on his Facebook page on Sunday, May 11, 2025, expressing his admiration and appreciation for her.

“A special Mother’s Day greeting to my Vice President, @njoagyemang, whom I had the pleasure of visiting earlier this morning,

” the President wrote.
