Volta Regional Minister pledges to enhance education and child welfare

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving education and child welfare in the Volta Region.

He pledged to make holistic efforts to secure a brighter future for children in the region.

Hon. Gunu made this promise during a surprise visit to Ho Model School Primary and Freetown M/A Primary School.

The visit aimed to assess the School Feeding Program, following reports that some schools had stopped cooking for the children.

The Minister’s primary objective was to observe the quality, quantity, and nutritional value of meals served to children. He also sought to verify concerns about schools that had stopped preparing food for the children.

Hon. Gunu emphasized the importance of firsthand experience, stating, “It was important for me to see the situation, interact with teachers, students, and caterers, and gather insights into the challenges affecting the program.”

He further stressed that children deserve consistent, nutritious, and well-balanced meals to support their growth, learning, and overall well-being.

To address the challenges, Hon. Gunu assured stakeholders that he would engage with them to ensure every school under the School Feeding Program delivers the necessary meals.

The Minister’s commitment to education and child welfare is a significant step towards securing a brighter future for the children in the Volta Region.

As the newly appointed Regional Minister, Hon. Gunu’s priorities are aligned with the region’s needs, focusing on education and child welfare.

The Regional Minister’s commitment to improving education and child welfare is a positive step towards the region’s growth and development.

By addressing the challenges facing the School Feeding Program, Hon. Gunu aims to create a better future for the children in the Volta Region.
