Vice President of the Republic, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is highly tipped to lead the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) as its flagbearer in the 2028 general elections.
This was revealed by a new poll conducted by independent research firm Global InfoAnalytics, which was released on Wednesday, April 2.
Enjoying 26% support, the first female Vice President of the country is closely followed by Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu, who has 19% support.
Other key figures include Minister of Finance Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson with 12%, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa with 10%, and the party’s National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also with 10%.
“For the NDC, the current Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is the front-runner with 26%, followed closely by Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu with 19%.
“Minister of Finance Hon. Ato Forson is in third place with 12%, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Okudjeto Ablakwa with 10%, and Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party’s general secretary, also with 10%. Dr. Zenator Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Klottey Korle, has 6%, while Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah has 6% as well,” the April 2025 National Tracking Poll revealed.
However, among NDC voters, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang receives 20% support, Haruna Iddrisu 21%, Ato Forson 15%, Okudjeto Ablakwa 11%, Asiedu Nketia 10%, Dr. Zenator Rawlings 6%, and Julius Debrah 7%.
