NPP Deputy National Organiser Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah (in smock) being attacked
The ongoing 2024 parliamentary election rerun in 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North constituency in the Greater Accra Region has seen a number of violent scenes.
The St Peter’s Society Odorkor Methodist Church polling station, where former Member of Parliament (NPP) for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, was attacked, has particularly seen several violent scenes.
It has emerged that Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, a Deputy National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was also attacked at the same polling station.
A video from the ground captured the Deputy National Organiser being attacked by some men perceived to be sympathisers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Asamoah could be seen trying to escape as the men were hitting him. He was floored by a heavy blow he did not see coming.
While on the ground, the men could be seen kicking and punching him and when he managed to get up on his feet, there was still no escape for him.
Some personnel of the Ghana Police Service could be seen trying to rescue him.
