The Minister for Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has highlighted the government’s commitment to address the concerns of trained nurses who are yet to be posted.

In a meeting held with the leadership of the 2020 cohort of unposted nurses, he gave a firm assurance that the ministry was not only aware of their plight but was actively taking steps to secure the necessary financial clearance for their immediate deployment

He acknowledged their concerns and expressed empathy for their situation.

“The Ministry values the contribution of every trained health professional to the development of our healthcare system. We are working tirelessly to ensure that every trained nurse is posted,” the Minister stated.

He further explained that the Ministry was actively communicating with the Ministry of Finance to expedite the necessary processes for securing financial clearance.

“These inter-ministerial engagements are ongoing and aimed at resolving the impasse in a manner that is sustainable for both the health sector and the national budget,” he added.

The visit forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to address posting delays and strengthen Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.
