The Minister for Energy, John Abdulai Jinapor, has urged Ghanaians to remain patient as the government takes steps to address the country’s ongoing power challenges.

He assured the public that measures are being implemented to resolve the recurring issues in the energy sector.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Mr. Jinapor explained that the government inherited a fragile energy sector, which has significantly contributed to the current erratic power supply. However, he emphasized that efforts are underway to introduce long-term solutions for stability.

“We inherited a very weak energy sector. Ghanaians should bear with us as we work to fix the problems permanently,” he stated.

He further reassured the public that the ongoing power disruptions would soon be resolved.

“The current erratic supply situation should be stable in two weeks’ time,” he added, expressing confidence in the government’s intervention strategies.

Mr. Jinapor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the energy sector to prevent future challenges. He urged the public to remain patient as authorities work towards achieving a sustainable and reliable power supply for the country.
