Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in charge of Management Services , Prof Smile Gavua Dzisi has cautioned candidates of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) against examination malpractice, stressing that the GES will not spare any victim.
Speaking to journalist after touring the Nima cluster of schools examination centre and other centres in Accra on June 11, Prof. Dzisi urged the candidates to solely rely on what they have learnt and not cheat in the exams.
“This year, we don’t want to tolerate any examination malpractice at all, no leakages. We are not going to spare anybody whatsoever. The student must be confident in themselves, write what they have learnt, what they know and leave the rest to Allah or God and God will take control. They should make sure they don’t involve themselves in any malpractice,” she said.
She noted that the GES has provided adequate resources to ensure a smooth and credible examination. Prof Dzisi was impressed by the conduct of the students, teachers and invigilators at the examination centres so far.
“I’m so much impressed about how things are going…All the resources have been provided. There is orderliness, quietness and students are in high-spirit. So far, I can say confidently that we are good,” she added.
A total of 603,328 candidates are expected to take part in the 2025 BECE which started today, Wednesday, June 11 and will end on Wednesday, June 18, across the country.
The Greater Accra and Ashanti Region have the most candidates for this year’s exams.
The Ghana Education Service (GES), announcing the figure ahead of the nationwide exams, said the cohort comprises 297,250 males and 306,078 females from both public and private schools.
With all materials and timetables already dispatched to centres, the GES says it is fully prepared for a smooth and credible examination process.
