The staff of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the Western North Region have been tasked with approaching this year with seriousness through intensive media engagement and community outreach exercises.

Gordon Amoh Boahen, the Western North Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), stated that this initiative would help expand the Scheme’s access to citizens and support the country in achieving Universal Health Coverage.

He made these remarks at the 2024 Annual Performance Review meeting of the NHIS in Sefwi-Wiawso.

Boahen also urged the staff to work as a team and put in more effort in their daily operations to enhance the region’s membership mobilisation drive.

He announced that the region had been ranked second nationwide in revenue mobilisation, attaining 64 percent of its revenue target of GHC 556,530.00 for 2024.

He further noted that Sefwi Juaboso was ranked first in membership mobilisation, achieving 106 percent of its 2024 annual target of 84,867 members, among the nine district offices in the region.

Additionally, the Bodi district office placed first in the region in terms of revenue mobilisation.

The review meeting brought together staff from all nine district and regional offices.

Meanwhile, watch a video of AG’s remarks on Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi’s arrest plus more others from the National Economic Dialogue 2025:
