The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin, has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), demanding that they explain their poor handling of the economy.
He called on the NPP to break their silence and account for what he describes as their mismanagement of the country’s economy, which, according to him, has been left in shambles.
In a social media post on Tuesday, March 18, Yamin warned that history would not be kind to former NPP appointees who amassed wealth at the country’s expense.
“Those who claimed to ‘break the 8’ should now break their silence and explain the mess they left behind. Ghanaians are watching, and history will not be kind to those who put personal gain above national interest,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the NPP, which aimed to secure a third consecutive electoral victory but failed, continues to defend its economic record, dismissing the NDC’s claims of mismanagement.
President John Dramani Mahama recently asserted during wage negotiations with labour unions that the economy he inherited had been “criminally mismanaged.”
